congrats!

my FI proposed without a ring.  the designer had a death in the family and it was delayed.  i didn’t get my ring until a month later.  but it was certainly worth the wait. (he did ask me ahead of time if i was ok with no ring for the proposal, and i said absolutely)

i’m a 4 1/2 ring size as well!

@Jennifferq:  congratulations!!!! And welcome to the bee 🙂

Sucks that it’ll take them 3 months… What kind of place is it? My FI bought the stone for mine separately and custom designed the setting with a local jeweller which took them 3 weeks to put it together… However I’ve seen similar posts in the past here so it doesn’t seem ‘unusual’ but you do have to question what they’re doing for those 3 months…!!

I’m engaged without a ring 🙂 He ordered it and its taking longer than expected. He didn’t want to wait any longer to propose so he asked me to marry him last week and I get the ring this upcoming weekend.

It sucks that your ring will take 3 months but it’ll be worth it when you get it. Congrats!

@Jennifferq:  I know you feel! I’ve already had a few people ask to see the ring but I don’t have it yet. I’m sure it’ll be worth it in the end though!

Try to be as positive as you can! When the ring comes in, go out to a nice dinner and celebrate like it just happened! Sorry you have to wait, but that’s the best idea I could think of….

Wow, my fiance designed my ring and it was ready in a week. I think you should talk to an independent jeweler – the chains suck.

I am engaged without a ring.  It’s hard to fathom spending $$$$ on a ring though I really want to have one.  We’ve been doing research for months now only to find something “wrong” with any choice I make (price, durability, etc).  It sucks but I know I will have one before the wedding at least!

Yay, and Boo.

While I completely subscribe to the ‘you dont need a ring to be engaged idea’ if you really would like to get used to wearing a ring on ‘that’ finger Cool could you have a substitute? I wore my fiances Mums ring for two months while mine was being chosen, made, etc. FMI was really pleased to see me wearing it, i loved having a ring. Now FMI has been reunited with her beauty and i am very much in love with mine.
