My Fiance and I got engaged a little over a week ago after 4+ years of dating – I am still walking on cloud 9 🙂
The proposal was SO perfect and so him. He took me to the cliffs on Marginal Way in Ogunquit Maine & got down on one knee right after sunset. I loved that what he said was so simple – it was perfect and so true to us. We spent the rest of the weekend at a spa resort on the beach and had an amazing time. We are thinking of a 2 year engagement and have not started planning – we are trying to enjoy being engaged! How about everyone else – did you get right to planning or wait a little while to enjoy cloud 9?! Below are some pictures of the engagement spot and my engagement ring.

Congrats! I’m in the middle of a 3 year engagement, but mainly because we’re young and we’d rather savour our youth than get married right away. I may change my last name to his next year as we will be common law by then, but the wedding and official marriage can come a lot later. Enjoy being engaged! 😀

That ring is stunning. Sounds like a very, very romantic weekend. Congratulations (and happy planning after you’ve celebrated for awhile)!

Your ring is gorgeous! What’s your ring size? it’s the perfect size for your hand, I think my setting is really similar, do you know the specs?

@QuirkySocialite: Thank you! The ring is a 6.5, but it is just a little loose, so we are thinking about going down to a 6-6.25. The center stone (round brilliant) is a little over 2cts & band is .8cts. VS1, color is H/I, very good cut, platinum setting.

Beautiful ring, I think you are smart for waiting. Enjoy your engagement, let it sink in, I think the best way is to set up a time line for when you need to get everything down. Slowly check thing of the list.
