We just decided to get married ASAP. My student visa is running out at the end of this summer (I’m graduating in June). I have family coming anyway for my graduation so we thought ‘hey! why not just throw a wedding together then too?!’
Call us crazy but this is working out so well! We are only having 15-20 guests, so we are able to go a little higher end on some things. This weekend, I booked my venue, photographer and bought my dress!!!
We are getting married at the Bedford Post Inn, near out house. We found out later by doing a google search that it is owned by Richard Gere!
Here’s my dress! Mikaella 1414
I can’t believe this is happening so fast! Still have to book my JofP, do a few little DIY projects for decor and favors, etc.. Thank god, the venue is so beautiful, I hardly have to decorate it at all!
I am on cloud 9 right now!!!!!!

If you check the venue’s site, we are getting married by the reflection pool. We are also returning to that area after dinner to dance and drink. I am thinking about putting floating candles in the pool at night. What do you think? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I should even start a new thread about this

Congratulations! We had a 6 month engagement and it was plenty of time. As long as you can get the important stuff booked right away, the rest is easypeasy 🙂

Wow, congratulations! My friend didn’t have much time at all before her wedding and she planned it brilliantly. The three things you did this weekend where probably the best things to get done first. I would find vendors you like and put a deposit down to save the date but not make any final decisions on specifics (what type of flowers, food) until you have had a while to think them over. Sleep on it. Browsing wedding sites might change your mind – I sure changed my mind about a few things 😉
And of course make sure your guests know about it soon if they have to travel (that is, of course, if you haven’t notified them already) Good luck 🙂

Congrats indeed, and it is totally doable. Whatever you do don’t give in to that corporate wedding must have list and just plan your very own special thing, it’s going to be brilliant!

See this is a fun planning. small guest list no drawn out planning. Good Luck Girl and congratulations. I’ve been through immigration before so good luck with that too.
