We loved our retreat too! I've heard a bunch of people say that they had low expectations but I thought it was great. Good chance to just talk about things that you might not have thought about or might not have made time to talk about and to keep it in the context of faith.
I LOVED our retreat! I think we were the only couple there who was actually looking forward to the retreat and it did not disappoint. Mr P and I want to start volunteering with engaged encounters after we have a few years under our belts as a married couple.
We went to engaged encounter, and also LOVED it! I think both of us would recommend it to anyone considering pre-cana options. It was packed with helpful information, deeply spiritual, and a great relationship builder. We still see benefits several months down the road!
So this thread made me finally sign up to do mine. I've been putting it off for sometime because the fiance is not Catholic and though my grandparents on both sides are strong Catholics neither of my parents really instilled that in me so I've pretty much been afraid to sign up to do the engaged encounter thinking that everyone would look at me as a "bad" Catholic. But I definitely want to get married in a Catholic Church, its all I know.
Seeing these posts on what a positive experience it was for yall gave me the courage to finally make that call. I'm doing my engaged encounter in November...woop woop :)

My FI and I went on our Engaged Encounter this weekend, and it was AWESOME! We had so-so expectations, but seriously we grew so much closer over this weekend, and we both feel like our love grew leaps and bounds in just 3 days.
Did any of you bees out there who went on the Engaged Retreat have similar experiences?
I have heard horror stories so I just wanted to see how common a wonderful experience like our is...
