Weddingbee Boards

FI proposed last weekend and totally caught me off guard.  He's had the ring for 3 or 4 months and I was really getting antsy. When he didn't pop the question while we were on vacation I told him on the way back that it's really hard to wait and that it's not just about him, it's about us.  Since we both want to get married before end of year he was really needing to speed it up.

So...............on Halloween we went to a hockey game.  During the game he was holding my hand and rubbing my ring finger. I was kinda freaking thinking he'd do it on the jumbotron but it's so unlike him. When the game was over and no proposal I put the thought out of my head and just wanted to go home and sleep.  I had been working tons of OT it had been a very long day for me.

We walked into a pitch black house, me first, and in the middle of the living room was a lit up pumpkin that had been carved to say "Will u marry me".  I hyperventilated and cried and just nodded.  There were no words, just lots of hugging.  he had carved a little groove in the stem and put the ring there but I never saw it. LOL.

We are getting married New Year's Eve at a park we go to all the time on weekends.  I've managed to get most of the planning done this weekend, there's very little left to do thank goodness. I've had my dress for a while now.

About the ring.......the stone came from a pendant his grandmother wore until she died, it's over 50 years old and his grandfather had given it to her before his parents even met.  They were holocaust survivors and I'm just so thankful to have such a wonderful family heirloom given to me.

Anyway, just sharing my story as I've been reading everyone else's for months and I'm sure you'll see me around the next couple of months.  Only 7 weeks till the big day!!
