Wow that is GREAT! Keep us updated...BTW I LOVE chicken and dumplings, it's been a family meal for years!!! I fed it to my BF after only 2 months of dating! LOL
Thanks, Knelly :) It's a family meal of ours too! When I was living with a whole household of roommates post Hurricane Katrina, I used to make it all the time. Everyone loves it :)

how exciting!! btw, it's ALWAYS monsoon season in Louisiana. When I first moved here I couldn't believe the amount of rain!! BTW I'm soo excited to have another active Louisiana girl, it rocks!!
@crebre - I've been here since 2005 so I know exactly what you mean! It just seems like it's worse than normal this month! Actually, it is - I just checked and New Orleans broke the record for the wettest December and it's only the 15th!!
Anyway, happy to be here and happy to add to the active Louisiana list - I'm trying to recruit a few more brides I know in the area but so far they are just lurking! :)
@phedre: i think maybe there's another one or two of us. I have been in LA since May of 07, so maybe I'll ask you for all of the cool spots :D lol!! I suppose it can be intimidating when you just join on and someone who isn't even engaged has over 5000 posts lol!!!

On Sunday, FI and I spent all day lounging around the house because apparently it is monsoon season in New Orleans now. Since I had time on my hands and all the supplies, I decided to make chicken and dumplings. FI enjoyed it - he is a chef so he usually does the cooking so anytime I cook for him he gets all excited.
Well, last night we were talking about our days and he said "oh crap, I forgot to get my check before I left the restaurant tonight." I was like "okay, you're going there tomorrow, right?" And he said "yeah but I need to get it so I can give you bill money and pay off the ring."
My jaw dropped - it's not like this is a huge surprise, I've been a part of the ring designing process and I knew it was supposed to be ready soon but I've made a point of not talking about it so for him to come out and say that really shocked me. It's coming, it's really coming!!
I am so excited I can hardly sit still. I don't think the chicken and dumplings had anything to do with it but I still think it's funny :)
