So, I ended up making engagement chicken last night. Well, I started and everything seemed to go well. The Boy has a very bad habit of messing around with stuff I'm cooking. He thought it wasn't cooking fast enough, so he turned it up too high and the chicken actually dried out some.

Since he kind of took over the cooking, does that mean anytime between now and 6 months I'm going to propose to him?? :P LOL

Haha! What a funny/cute story. Men are so funny sometimes...maybe it will turn around where you end up proposing! ;) But I can't even cook toast, so I may be waiting a VERY long time. LOL

ha! my boyfriend won't even let me touch the stove for the most part. he knows i'm a terrible cook. it's funny, when i start dinner he'll take over because he doesn't trust that it will cook up well.

however, i am a good baker and he lets me do all the baking i want. unfortunately, it's bad for our waistlines so i limit myself.

Well, it sounds like you both participated in the cooking...so maybe you'll propose to each other at the same time, call out jinx, and not be able to say yes until someone else says your names?

awwww! i actually feel like this happens in reverse - he's always in the kitchen and then i try to meddle in what he's doing, and it often ruins what he's trying to cook! doh! but i think you started off the whole thing, and the intentions are still the same, so your engagement chicken plot is still a sucess in my mind! you can try again maybe in a week or two and say, 'hey honey - i took your advice and wanted to try it again just to make sure i get it right! ;)'.... love it!

@Jaxx: Too funny! The Boy is always meddling in what I'm doing, or else he stands over me telling me different ways I can cook things. It's kind of our little joke because I just ignore him.

I think I'm going to make the chicken again when he's not home/preoccupied because I'm sure it's really tasty when it's not dried out to the consistency of, say, sandpaper. lol...

@chaotic bliss: I just can't even read that word without laughing! I think my sweetie would flip because I'd probably say something like, "here is your man-gagement ring." I think the chicken is much more subtle!
