you know - i will say that i have looked on the knot before, and up until this point i never understood why people spoke of it that way.
that post changed everything.
i'm sorry they're such jerks. wow. i'm like, shocked that people could even be that ruthless...
thanks lol. The things they were saying to me just b/c i asked about where to buy good invites was crazy! they told me my marriage was going to fail and what i should and shouldnt do and even commenting on how i spelled things....i was in complete shock! cause a bunch of people reccomended it to me. Then somone on the knot recommended this and so far all of the people posted actually answered my question and were nice about it lol
Welcome Niki! We're glad to have you aboard the Bee train!!
Etsy is definitely a fav of mine for custom stuff. But also, if you want the DIY route, there are a few other sites with kits for sale:

Wow Niki, just read that thread. Nuts! Hopefully my post helped at least a bit. Let me know if the hobby lobby link didn't work for some reason. And welcome to the bee!
Welcome Niki!!! I'm glad you took my advice to try WeddingBee... you'll find that things are much nicer here. :) I've been bashed on The Knot before too...
thanks everyone!
Jennifer..thanks so much for that advice..everyone here seems much nicer! i was starting to think i was the only being bashed on there lol. I think ill def stick with this site!
Eurgh! I hate those know boards, its always the same girls that are bullying too, even the moderators get involved.
@ Niki--- ETSY!! ETSY!! ETSY!! I have gotten all of my paper from etsy (STDs, Invites, Labels, etc!)
Also..off topic. The other day I posted advice on what format (font, size, etc) to print addresses onto my invite envelopes and one of the "knotties" told me if I wasn't concerned with my "integrity" I could use a font that looks like it's handwritten, but she certainly wouldn't...lol I used that font and it looks great!
Etsy, vistaprint, or this site that has free invite downloads - http://www.nonpareilmag.com/category/downloads/
or make your own using photoshop, illustrator, or another program like publisher.
This was posted here too http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/free-invitation-templates
Thanks everyone! this is all great advice. i will check into all of it. I did go on to etsy and it looks like they have a lot of cute invites! sounds like some of you ran into the same problem i did on the knot website....its ridiculous! im def sticking with this website!
Etsy or Vistaprint are good online options as previous posters have suggested. My parents bought my e-party invitations at a local store called the Paper Store...so check out your local Hallmark store or Paper Store if the event is informal. We just wrote in the information.
okay i JUST found this site - they've got invitations for anything you could want:

I tried to post this on the knot.com and all i got were a bunch of people giving me opinions and judging me...so im going to try this here. My parents are throwing my fiance and I an engagement party ive looked on google, target, hallmark, and party city websites and haven't found anything. Can anyone recommend a good site to purchase invites?
