My parents are having an engagement party for us. They live in Ohio. We live in North Carolina. His parents live in Oklahoma. I have never met anyone in his family. Me and him stay at my parents house when we visit and they have visited us, so he knows them pretty well. My Fiance has not mentioned wanting to invite his family at all. My mom and I decided we should invite his parents. If they don’t come, they don’t come. We just think it’s the right thing to do. If they do come it will be a great way to meet them! My mom also wants to invite his grandmother (who lives by his parents) and his Aunt and Uncle, who only live about 45 minutes from where the engagement party will be. He has never met his Aunt and Uncle. His mom and grandmother have had a falling out over the past year, but I am sure he is over exaggerating it, she is his last living grandparent. My Fiance doesn’t really have an opinion on this. I feel like his family should at least have the opportunity to come, since my whole family and friends will be there. My mom doesn’t want to invite anyone who will feel bad about not being able to come and I agree with her. It’s really hard to decide how they will react. Any ideas? Thanks!
