- Wedding: September 2010
I’m getting married this fall in Denver (where Fiance and I both live) and plan to invite 200-250 guests. We finalized our guest list months ago after consulting with both families. My in-laws graciously offered to throw an engagement party for us in their home town in Texas but the guest list includes a bunch of neighbors and family friends that are not going to be invited to the wedding so my mother suggested to MOG that she call the event a “meet and greet” or something similar. We received the invite in the mail last week and it’s clearly being referred to as an Engagement Party. I immediately asked my Fiance to confirm with his family if there was anyone else we should be inviting to the wedding since we’re finalizing our invitation order and he checked with them and the answer was no. I know it’s not proper etiquette to invite people to an engagement party that are not invited the wedding… should I be worried about this? Any advice on how to handle?
