I’m in a LDR so none of FI’s family or friends can be there, and because of the wreckage from the hurricane, most of my family couldn’t make it either, so I decided not to invite any family and make it a friends/coworkers engagement party.
But because of the LDR, it’s just *my* friends and co-workers. So we have about 30 people.
I feel kinda down about it and almost like it won’t be a real fun engagement party because it’s just friends coming and it’s not a lot of people.

We invited 20, 16 RSVPd and 8 showed. Pretty sad.

We didn’t have an engagement party. Figured the wedding was enough. There was 39 people there and it was epic.

Aw don’t worry about it! People make the party, not the number of people but how fun the guests are. We’ve had small parties of 10 people and had a blast! Our engagement party was ~35 people and it was really fun. I wouldn’t worry about numbers – once it comes, you’ll be happy to be surrounded by people you love. And I know it sucks that your family can’t make it – my family lives 4,000 miles away and couldn’t make it to all of the pre-wedding events – but trust me, you’ll still have a good time, and hopefully your family will be at the actual wedding. That’s what counts, when it comes down to it.

We had an engagment party this year in July. Because it was in the summer alot of people were on holidays or were busy that weekend but we had a pretty good turnout and had about 60 people show 🙂 I dont think it really matters the number of people..you will still be able to have an awesome time with less people. I felt I wasnt’ able to visit with everyone because there were so many people there so less would have been better

We had an Engagement Serenata and had less than 30 people… none of my bm’s showed up because they were prepping for my Bachelorette party which was the same night. I had a blast that night. It’s not about how many people are there…just have fun with the people that can be there and make it a memorable night.

FI’s family threw us an engagement party last weekend and we had about 25 show up.
