After two months of being engaged and not getting married till a year from now, we are hosting our own engagement party. My matron of honor (sister) sent out the invites and is taking care of the RSVP’s but since it’s in our city at our house, I will want to be part of a lot of the planning and decorating. It’ll be a backyard/inside mingling/cocktail kind of party with close friends and family.
I’d love to hear what you did for yours if you had one 🙂

- Wedding: January 2016 - Church in Shedd Oregon
I’m planning our engagement party and it’s going to be in June! Becasue we are on budget it was so great of my fiances parents to loan us their church (his mom owns an old abandoned church that she remodeled into a working kitchen for her company). We are going to do it BBQ style with burgers and potatoe salad and chips. Typical summer BBQ foods. It’s going to be BYOB becasue alcohol is expensive.
I have lots of cute ideas that i want to do like an engagement cake (I want a small round one just for my fiance and I to cut and pose next to) and cupcakes for our guests with fake rings on them. I also bought these cute goodie bags in the shape of a bride and groom and filled them with chocolate and bubbles. We’re going to have a photo of us the day he proposed displayed in one of those picture frames that guests can sign. Next to the goodie bags I wanted to have an advice table where people would write their realationship advice and later as a game read out the advice and have the guest try to guess who gave that advice. We also want to have a “collect the rings” game where fake engagement rings will be hidden all over the party and whoever finds the most wins. We also bought cute candles for the winners of the games 🙂
