    Hello,

My boyfriend and I have decided to throw an engagement party for 2 of our close friends next month at my house.

I have already selected the invitations, and am having trouble coming up with the approproate wording. I am really excited for the party, and want the invitations to be just right.

This is my first time hosting something like this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are also response cards that I need to decide on the wording for as well

Also, is it best to host the party in the early evening in case the group would like to venture out to continue the party later that evening?

Here is the wording I have come up with so far:

Jason and Jenn request the honour of your presence in celebrating the engagement of their friends

    Brandon Morris

    &

    Rachael Jenson

    Saturday, the fourteenth of January

    Two thousand twelve

    at six o’clock

    125 Terrace Cove Way

    Orlando, Florida

    Response card:

The favour of a reply is requested before the twelfth of January

    M_____________

____will attend  ____ unable to attend

I think your wording sounds great! a little formal, which is fine, if thats what you are going for.

here are some other fun ideas if you didnt want it so formal

    Jim popped the question,
    Maggie said “Yes”

Typically you only request the honor of your presence when you asking them to come to a house of worship.

I would probably write something like:

    Please join us for an

    Engagement Party

    celebrating

    Brandon Morris

    &

    Rachael Jenson

    Saturday, the fourteenth of January

    Two thousand twelve

    Jason and Jenn
