What do you wear for them? Our photographer said we can have 2 or 3 outfits and I’ve been looking online for different outfit ideas, but keep coming up short. I know for one outfit I want to wear a nice dark pair of jeans I have with a nice shirt, but haven’t found one yet. Can you tell, I hate shopping? =) Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated!

Well, my photographer said to stick with solids — dark or bright colors, no whites or pale pastels. We did our engagement session on campus at UCLA. First we took formal pictures at Royce Hall. I wore a simple and sweet blue dress with a cap sleeve, bow in the front, that came just to my knees. My fh wore a suite with a white shirt and gold tie. Then we took informal pictures, I wore jeans and a blue UCLA t-shirt and my fh wore jeans and his UCLA hawaiian shirt. It took about an hour and 45 minutes.

You should check out Miss Cherry Blossom’s post (http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/04/04/sos-cb-need-yo-help-help/) for some ideas… But really, you should just wear something that goes with your personality. Maybe a cute dress for some photos and jeans and a nice shirt for other photos.

The dress I orginally picked out didn’t fit and couldn’t be altered smaller because of beading. So, I went to Ann Taylor and bought this one and this one for my shower or rehearsal dinner. I am always in jeans so I wanted some photos of us dressed up. I am also having my make-up trial that day.

I wore a simple black sheath dress and fake diamond necklace andeeld and it looked great. i bought the heels on clearence at payless for $5 and they were so worth it because in one pose I had my foot up (like that romantic kick your leg back thing). Also simple dresses with no embellishments photgrah well.
Also if you have any tradional ethnic outfit wear that- I’m Indian, so I wore a salwar, but if you were Scottish a kilt or Japanese a kimono or whatever. . . there hope these ideas help.

Pick an attribute of yourself that you’d like to play up…blue eyes? brown eyes with gold fleks? wear something that makes that pop. If you aren’t big on your eyes then perhaps a color that brings out your hair.
I would go with bolder colors as well…these stand out more in pics-more so then pastels or muted colors.
If you go understated for one of the photos…like a classic black dress, then have something interesting like a fabulous pair of shoes to make it interesting.

Navy and white Milly dress with 3/4 sleeves and fantastic jackie o style beading (think kenneth jay lane esque) around the neck (it’s on net a porter right now, but I don’t have a link), if (we decide to do them together we’re very traditional and all that means is just a head shot…) to do pictures together, then he’s going to be in a navy blazer, tan dress pants, white shirt. Just please don’t dress exactly alike…jeans and button downs- boring!
