i think if you really love her work and you guys click well then you should try to come up with the extra $400. the photography is important and you definitely want someone you love.

we had a small wedding too! only 40 people. i think cupcakes would be nice and if it saves you some money to put towards the photographer then it’s a great idea. you might be able to save on flowers too if you get ones that are in season at the time and have simple centerpieces. you can probably do centerpieces yourself and have your friend just do the bouquets and boutonierres.

haha! you don’t have to do dessert if it’s not that important to you. that’s my favorite part though. i was more concerned about the cake tasting good than anything else. i almost had them cut the cake before dinner just so i could eat it asap. 🙂

Maybe a desert bar with pie, cookies, brownies, etc that you and your female relatives can help with? Or maybe  you can find rental linens for cheaper. There are TONS of ways to cut cost and save $400

i believe tulips are pretty affordable and it would be so easy for you to make a centerpiece with them. i’m a planner too. we had everything in place for our wedding over a year in advance… and i mean everything- venue, photog, limo, even my dress.

that sucks that your venue won’t let you bring in your own baked goods. boo to them!
