Our STDs didn't have pictures but we did e-pics more so we could have "everyday" pictures together. I am awful about bringing a camera along most of the time. It was also a good way to get more comfortable being photographed.
If you have plenty of fun (and nice) pictures together, then I would go for the $75 print credit. There is only so much room to display pictures anyway, so you may have to swap out your favorite e-pics with wedding pics later on.
I would go for the print credit and if you want a special engagement shoot later, ask a friend with a creative eye to take pics of you guys.
Or if you keep a look out, I got a free engagement shoot from the classifieds on here. I just had to purchase whatever pictures I wanted.

Any brides out there NOT doing engagement photos? If you didn't, did you regret it?
Here is our deal. We've already put our engagement announcement in the paper, and made our save-the-dates using some fun pictures of us through our years of dating. My wedding photography package comes with an engagement session, but if we don't use that, we get a $75 credit toward prints. Also, we live on the other side of the country from our wedding site and photographer, and our only chance to do the session would be during an already busy Thanksgiving week.
Is there any purpose for having the engagement photos besides wedding announcements and save the dates? Anyone on here NOT do the session? I just can't decide what I care about more - having the engagement pics, or having that $75 of additional prints.
