Enjoy yourself!  I guess avoid any foods that you know make you bloat really badly, but if you have a two day buffer I think you will be perfectly fine enjoying yourself and then going back to being healthy the next day ๐Ÿ™‚

If your skin is as reactive as you say, you will do much more harm to it by stressing this much than just by eating a few unhealthy treats. Relax, and find a happy middle ground for enjoying your party without denying yourself the things you want and without pouncing on every salty thing that looks tasty. Moderation is key, as with pretty much everything else in life.

You’ll just have to control what you eat that day.  Our parents threw us a huge engagement party 2 days before our engagement photos and that was reason enough for me to stick to salads and salmon!

Do you normally react this way to foods and drinks? Or are you just being cautious?

@mrskellytobee:  I think it depends on you.

Me, splurging has zero affect on my skin etc; I’m lucky and very very rarely get spots, and if I do, they’re triggered by stress/illness. So, I personally would have no qualms about a nice binge!

If however you know you get breakouts if you eat certain foods, personally I’d avoid them, and stick with healthier options like fish and salad. These foods are just as enjoyable (IMPO) and you won’t be worrying about spots for your photos.

Bloating should really go down fairly quickly, so that wouldn’t be a worry for me.

It’s 2 days later.  You won’t be bloated anymore.  Go for a run (which releases sodium) and drink water and eat a lot of asparagus (natural diuertic) the day after the party and you should be fine!  Unless, you react smoe way to these foods that isn’t the “normal bloat” reaction?

@mrskellytobee:  I just read that you break out sometimes and have been on retina – steer clear of dairy products.  I don’t necessarily have any evidence to back this up, but I do think dairy makes you break out.  When I eat less dairy, I break out less, so that’s my own personal study.  ๐Ÿ™‚

@elysion:  +1 – and if here are any skin issues, your photog should be able to do some touch ups for you! It’s really no big deal (:

Yes, being silly. You can’t look much different in a day ๐Ÿ™‚
