I’m not an August bride, but Im gonna be wild and comment anyways, hope you don’t mind! FI and I had or engagement shoot this past weekend and we had a complete blast. we are not a PDA kind of couple and were kind of nervous that we’d look awkward. FI was not really interested in it, we only did it because it was part of our wedding package. our photographers were amazing, were great at making us feel comfortable. Now I have no idea how I’ll wait 3 weeks for our pics!

So we didn’t do them either. It was just too busy, and we were both working on losing some pounds.. I somewhat regret we didn’t do them, but now I feel so much better to do a photoshooting with my hubby… finantially, with no planning stress…

If you have the budget and the time, do them.. if you don’t, you’ll have a lifetime for beautiful photos with your loved one! 🙂

We did engagement pictures so we can use them for our invitations and possibly guest book. If it was something you wanted to do you could probably even ask a friend or family member that is into photography to do some for you. They might not charge depending how close you are. Honestly with how much editing you can do now a days, I don’t think you need to spend your life savings on a photographer, as long as they can edit well.

We did them as part of a photo package and we used them for our portrait that we placed outside the entrace of our venue and for the guest book.

We’re doing them in almost exactly a month.  I’m really excited, though I have NO CLUE what I’m wearing yet!  FI wants to wear his favorite blue shirt, so I’m trying to plan off of that.  Keep him happy and he looks awesome in that shirt!  We’re going to use them on Save the Dates and probably in the guest book.  Plus, we’re both shy, so I’m looking forward to getting a bit more comfortable with our photographer before the wedding.

We are going to do them sometime this fall I think, which I’m nervous about as we are going to fly our photographer up here to do them, and ugh what if the weather is awful, though he does adorable shoots in the rain all the time so I guess we would just man up!

I am so super unfashionable that I’m dreading having to pick out an outfit for the shoot.

We really want them for our save the dates, which we are going to send out in January.

We’re planning on doing them, but FI wants to be completely healed before we do them.

As of right now we don’t plan on taking engagement pictures, but were still looking for a photographer so that may change once we find one.

We didn’t do engagement pics.  Why spend all that money when no one really cares.  So we are happy with our pics that we have of each other hiking and stuff!  i rather save the money for the wedding then spend it on that.  But that is my opionion.  We are not doing invites due to only imitate family is coming and then party later on after.  We dont like crowds.  lol  I think it is up to the couple weather to have them or not.

We did them this past week. They were included in our photography package, so why not? We will use one for the save the date, and maybe even Christmas cards. I will probably make a photo book for each of our mother’s as a gift, and maybe we’ll have some at the reception.

If your session isn’t included I suppose it might be a good place to cut costs. However, lots of photographers recommend it because it helps the photographer get to know you and also helps you get comfortable posing for your photos.

@mscuppycake:  we’re doing them!  I think its a great way to get comfortable with our photographer, and FH is not very good in front of the camera.  we’re not using them for save the dates, so this will be more of a practice session for our wedding day.  I can totally understand not wanting to do them though!

I made sure that the photographer we booked included an engagement shoot because I wanted it for the save the dates. We just did our shoot yesterday. I CAN’T WAIT to get them back! The leaves were beautiful!

Our photographer included a complimentary engagement session with our wedding package, so we got them done. They came out great and I really enjoyed the opportunity to work with our photographer and get to know her as well having the chance for her to get to know us too.
