I've never heard of this. Is he on deployment for a long time? It still seems odd, you'd think if she wanted a picture for an announcement she'd just use one they already have.
Ummm... no. She just went to see him two days after the pictures were taken I think.
This is so weird to me, too!
Haha, I don't know why but that just reminded me of the episode of Friends where Monica and Chandler get their engagement pictures taken, and Chandler can't take a good picture, so Joey fills in. Maybe he just wasn't photogenic enough. ;)
Haha, did she say it was engagement pictures? In some areas it's common to do more of a bridal portrait thing...
Wouldn't that just be... a personal photoshoot? I'm sorry, but I think that's really weird too. :p
No... it's not of her in a dress, though bridals are common here. She labeled them as engagement pics!
LOL I hate to say it, but she was standing next to a tree in a really cute pose! No, really, I just think her friend wanted some experience taking e-pics but it was weird that she didn't wait until he got back...
@scissors, yes... but then there were a couple shots of the ring on her hand
Very peculiar. Maybe he was behind the camera and it was shots of when he proposed as in actual engagement photos and not engagement session?
I've seen this in our newspapers. I think it's becoming less of a trend, but I've thought of it as a, how do I say it, "society" thing. It may be a Southern thing too.
It is possible, that her photographer offered an E-session with her package, and so maybe since her fiance could not be there she decided to go on her own... either that or she wanted engagement pics, but her fiance could not be there, so she just did them herself!
I would say this is not a trend or the norm though, as engagement photos are usually of the couple together!!

A girl I'm facebook friends with had e-pics taken without her fiance (I think he's military). Is that normal? Just wondering... it seemed odd to me.
