I’m getting married next August and would like to use our e-pics on the save the dates to be sent next spring (most everhone will be from OOT). Our photographer suggested this fall. I think wearing fall/cool weather clothes will look silly sent out in spring, plus they will be taken on a sailboat. I just got engaged in june though, so is. September too soon for these to e taken? I feel most people wait til 6 months out, what did you bees do about seasonal attire and timing?

@Tbblount: I don’t think it’s weird at all to be wearing fall clothes in a spring save the date! Plus, it’s a fall wedding anyway, so fall clothing would make sense to me!

I don’t think that is too earlier. You really can do whatever outfits, theme, etc you want for the photos- especially if you plan to use them on invites!

I think technically your supposed to take it around the same time that your weddings going to be. Example your weddings going to be in August so take your engagement pictures this August. My wedding was at the end of September I took mine in early October. I think it looks nice when the seasons match. But if you don’t feel like doing at that time take it whenever you feel like it… I’m sure they will turn out great.

I don’t think it’s ever too early. Go with which ever theme makes you happy. If you want summer do summer looks or fall then do fall looks, it’s totally up to you!!!

Yes, whatever outfit and themes. It is your choice.

The only thing that would really show that it’s fall would be leaves turning, I think. So if you avoid having those in the frame (or if you go early enough in the fall that the leaves haven’t turned yet), you can definitely avoid a fall look.

I wanted to get them done sooner or later so we could test out the photographer before booking them for a wedding, and we got a discount on prices if we booked early. So I had them done May 2013 with a September 2014 wedding. I don’t think you can do them too early.
