I'm in the same boat...... so welcome :)
We are waiting until January to get ours taken so my half sleeve tattoo will be finished. Due to the season, and living in Northern MI, I am assuming most of ours will be indoor shots.
I would first ask myself, what is he planning on wearing? Definetly coordinate, not matchy matchy.
Do you get outfit changes? If so, I would maybe play around with differnt looks.
Will they be taken outdoors or in?
What are the options? :) I think a classy dress and fun heels always look great. Or jeans with a cute sweater. In what kind of setting are you taking your pics? What outfit makes you feel the best? If you're happy it will definitely show in the pictures!
@ offbeat bride: Another Michigander! :) My FI is from that area so I'm up there a lot and we almost had our wedding in Interlochen.
We live in Texas, so Fall weather is really not that chilly. I can't wear too high of heels because my love is not the tallest of men. We're both shorties.
We do get an outfit change. They will probably be outside. I'm thinking jeans and a cute top for one, and a forest green dress with these little boots I bought today for the other!
I agree with offbeat bride about the matchyness... i don't want it to overtly match but I want us to compliment each other! What can he wear to match my green dress?
You ladies are awesome!
I think something classic, classic, classic. You don't want to look back on your pictures and go "what the heck was I thinking?
I think those ideas sound perfect! Maybe he can wear a solid color shirt (sweater, button up, tee... whatever is his style) in a complimentary shade. Maybe a dark brown or cream or something. And for pants, again I'd say go with his style. If he's a jeans guy, he could do some nicer dark jeans. Or some dressier pants or khakis. I totally agree on not being too "matchy"!
@ kateriffic- I am so close to Interlochen. It is beautiful there.
I went for a funkier look, but it was still not too funky, I think. We'll see for sure when I get the pics back!
Just basically try to wear something that makes you feel like a rockstar! (jacked these images from my blog, hence the captions. lol)

Oh, and I put my fiance in this. We got some awesome shoe shots out of this, I'm sure. :p

I don't know if this is helpful, but I'll tell you my experience. Everyone told me - go casual, wear your favorite weekend outfit, etc. Jeans and a nice top. I wore a sleeveless marigold dress that is not "classic" - it will be out of style in 5 or 10 years for sure. And it was 45 degrees outside.
It was the best wedding related decision I have made so far! I have gotten SO. MANY. compliments on the dress. That's the biggest thing people notice. It ended up matching the color of the leaves on a tree we took pictures with, and that's going to be our save the date photo.
So I guess what you can draw from this - wear something you love. Don't be afraid to wear something extra pretty just because e-pics are supposed to be casual. But if you want to dress casual, do that. Just do what you want! That's the most important thing.
Hi, everyone. I am also in the 'what to wear?' boat. My FI and I are doing our e-pics in Key West, which is also where we are planning to have our destination wedding. I was thinking about going to buy something new, but then I figured why not wear something that's already in my closet that I know I love.
I've seen all over the web that you are not supposed to wear white. However, A LOT of the beach e-pic shoots I have seen have included white sundress or top. Has anyone had a poor experience wearing white for their session? I was thinking of wearing a white, eyelet halter sundress.
I was also thinking about wearing jeans and a black tank top--just something casual.
Bees!! thanks so much for your advice, we just took our pictures yesterday, and i think they will look great! I will post some as soon as I get them.
We definitely went for a fun look. I'm so excited for you guys to see them!
Sunset Bride, i had heard about the white thing too, and my phoographer, who happens to be a friend of mine, said that white is ok. She doesn't recommend it if either of you are really fair skinned, since that will reflect a lot of light. But I've seen some of her work in which either the bride to be or her FH is wearing white, and I think they look great.
I am having a hard time with this myself. I am not sure what to wear , neither is the FI. We are having our wedding pictures outdoors. any ideas ladies?
