Fiance and I are huge GB Packers fans. I have seen some engagement pictures that incorporate a favorite football team jersey in it. I was thinking about doing custom jerseys with a 9 and 14 jersey since we are getting married on Sept 14 of next year. The only problem is…I don’t know what to write on the back of the jersey. I’d like to be able to use them again which is why I don’t really want them to say “Save” and “the date”. We do have jerseys with actual players, but we want to make it a bit more personal.
Would it be weird for us to write our last name on it (future last name for me) before we are married? What suggestions do you have?
Here are some cute football engagement picture inspirations 🙂

I think it’s a sweet idea 🙂

I think it’s a really cute idea! Or if you don’t want to ruin them you can use those big white stickers just for the photos and have them say whatever you want…save the date..or Soon to be..anything you want!
I can’t wait to see pictures!!

I think it’d be super sweet to have your maiden name as his name in some photos, and then take some with a sign covering your maiden name on your jersey!

My fiance and I are huge sports fans (mainly collegege) as well, but not for the same team. We plan on doing some pictures with jerseys on from our teams. We have football helmets as props that I am going to hang a little sign between with our date on it. I love the football painted with the wedding date from your one picture.
I think you should get your names actually printed on the jerseys and wear them again.

We were thinking of doing the same thing! FH and I love the New Orleans Saints. What I was planning on doing was getting his last name on both jerseys. I think I would use that ALL the time after our wedding, and I know he would too. We were both going to get 12s, since that is both the year and the month we are getting married. If we wanted to do a date pic, I was going to figure out a 1 to put in between us to make it 12-1-12. And then after we are married, the number will still represent the year we were married and have our last name on it. But unfortunately I don’t think we’re going to be able to do this for our e-pics, since they’re Wednesday! But I still want to order the jerseys and maybe use them for the mini photo shoot our photographer wants to do the day before the wedding.
I really love the inspiration pics you posted! I think it is a great idea!! My opinion is definitely to use your FH’s last name since you will use that for years after y’all get married. You could wven make a cute “to-be” sign. Another option is to just use each of your first names. If you want to say save the date or anything I’d use chalkboards or signs. I can’t wait to see your pictures! Please post them once you take them!

I think the idea with his last name on the back is adorable!! Love the football jersey idea. I am totally doing this — my SO and I are big fans of the same college football team. We even have season tickets.

I’m doing the same thing with University of Michigan jerseys (we are taking pictures in Michigan stadium!). I struggled with the same issue on what to put on the back. I decided against “Save the Date” or “Bride”/”Groom” because I paid a pretty penny for my custom jerseys and wanted to be able to wear them again. I also did not want to put last names – did not want my last name because it would change in a few months, and did not want my fiance’s last name on my back because we aren’t yet married.
I ended up going with just our first names. Here’s a pic!

Another option I was considering was having custom jersey name plates (just the portion with your name) stitched to replace the name at a future time. I’m sure there are other places that may create these cheaper but here is one option I found through a quick google search:
