I can’t show you a photo of mine because I’m not supposed to know about it, and I’m definitely not supposed to have tried it on (whoops!). Haha.  I have the blue nile peteite cathedral pave which is 1.5mm thick.  I really love the think band look and this is absolutely perfect for me.  I have an N size finger (australian) and it looks quite good, so I imagine that a thinner band would be wonderful for you! I have a 0.9 carat pear diamond on mine and it looks MASSIVE by comparison.  I vote go smaller.  But hopefully some lovely ladies will post pictures that’ll help you out a bit!!

I found a ruler and measured my band and it is really hard to tell if it is a 1.75 or a 2 mm, the difference is so little, but I think it looked closer to being 2mm.  I don’t have small hands and wear a 7.5 ring but I love how delicate the small bands look and how they make the center stone really stand out!

@hlayers:  I absolutely love your ring, and have been looking at one that is very similar. However the one I found is .9ct center stone, and out of my budget (my fiance to be and myself are both still in college). Do you mind giving me the specs on your ring, it would definitely help in my search! Thanks

@Weebagpuss:  My ring is 2mm at it’s widest.  I ordered a plain 2mm wedding band, and it was hard to find one that small.  It would probably be very challenging to find one smaller unless you do custom.

Here’s my ering:

and with the band:

@Weebagpuss:  I’m not a ton of help on knowing about band thickness because I don’t know the exact measurements, but I have a 1.65ct black diamond with a halo and I think the halo makes my ring look ginormous (in a good way). So adding a halo would add some “oomph” to your stone ๐Ÿ™‚ I have a size 4 finger.

I have a ring I wear on my right hand that’s not an engagement ring with a 1.6mm band.  I think it is plenty thick and wouldn’t want to go much thicker for my e-ring personally.  I prefer more delicate jewelry.

Pic attached for you to see.  No idea how big the stone is, but my finger is 5.5.

@Weebagpuss:  Yeah my stone is big but I thought the band might help.  My finger is a 5 1/2, for reference…. I think that would be a K 1/2?

Good luck with your ring designing, so exciting!  I LOVE thin bands!

@loveislife:  thank you! my ring has a 0.60 carat center stone with a D color rating but im not sure about the other specs. The band is .22 total carat weight.  We bought both my setting and diamond at Shane Co. and I thought their pricing was really reasonable.  You can look at the setting and even play around with seeing different shapes and sizes of virtual stones in it on their website. Good luck!
