Engagement ring on wedding day?

My friend recently got married and she wore it, but quickly pulled it off for him to put her wedding ring on first then slipped it back on top. I also know someone who just put the wedding ring on top then subtly switched it after the ceremony. And then some people choose to wear their e ring on their right hand for the wedding. It just depends what you want to do.

FWIW my e ring does not fit on my right hand so I’ll be doing one of the first two choices for my wedding.

I am planning to wear it on my right hand and after the ceremony, move it to my left on top of my wedding band.

Definitely wear it! I’ll likely just move it to my right hand for the ceremony.

Wear it on your right hand then move it over after you receive your wedding band.

I wore mine. I planned to move it to my right hand, but I forgot. Oops. At some point during the ceremony I remembered and stealthily moved it from my left hand to my right.

My rings don’t fit on my right hand, and I’m not sure I would have wanted to do it that way anyways. I put the wedding band on top and switched them around immediately after the ceremony.

I was thinking of asking this same question, eventually. After reading this, I tried it on my right hand and it just feels so wrong! lol I’m right-handed, so it was also tighter on that side. I suppose that’s what I’ll do during the ceremony, though.

I actually forgot to take mine off for the ceremony and wore it during the ceremony.. he just slipped my band on my finger, and I put it how it was supposed to be later. [my band fits inside my engagement ring].

Willow90: Funny, I’m left-handed, but my rings also fit tighter on my right hand. Way too tight though, they hurt going over the knuckle.

I wore mine on my right hand and swapped it to my left hand after the ceremony was done and the wedding band was on. You will probably want it with you for photos of your hands together, once both of you have your band on.

I wore mine on my right hand and just switched. But had it not fit, I would have just worn it on my left hand and turned it around afterward.

I wore mine and changed the order after the ceremony.

I think I’d switch the engagement to my right hand for the ceremony and then switch it back over, or get both rings blessed and have him slip them both on? Good question.

Okay I have a question… why is there a “switch” at all? Why does the engagement ring go on top of the wedding band? I was thinking of wearing my band on top of the e-ring. Is this like… a demon curse or something? lol.
