Hi, I’m new to the site but I’ve been lurking for a while 🙂 My boyfriend has asked me to start sending him pictures and links of rings that I like. As we’re young and in the process of buying our first house, we don’t have a lot of excess money to spend on a ring!
My boyfriend is old fashioned and he’d really like to see the ring in person (ie: not purchase it over the internet) so that rules out a lot of affordable options. The budget is about $2000 but I’d strongly prefer to keep it under that. I also would prefer moissanite for both ethical and financial reasons.
Does anyone know where to find ring settings within our price range? We also live in Canada, which could be a little limiting. Thanks in advance for your help!

Thought I would give you a bump. I can’t name a single place in person to even see a Moissanite stone or setting, I spent much time googling and calling places. That is going to be a challenge. You might have to check out some other posts and other bees pictures/testimonials and take a chance on purchasing online. I believe you can return or exchange unless it’s custom.
moissaniteco.com is the best one I have found. There are a ton of pictures of bee’s rings for “real” pictures.

The only place I know sells moissanite is the moissaniteco shop in…ah, is it Wyoming? There is a store….
anyway, I’d suggest ordering a loose stone to look at. If you decide you hate it, send it back and get a refund. If you love it, send it back/in to get set!

@allinoelle: I think that some jewelers are willing to order in a loose stone for you to set. That will give you an option of going somewhere local so your BF will be pleased with his “old fashioned” request, and it may open the door to an affordable option for you to stay under 2000. I’m not sure who exactly does this or is willing to, but I hear it is do-able. Call around maybe? I know some Kohls and Sears carry Moissys.
