Okay so iv narrowed my choice down to these two, they are basically the same ring, but one has 10 little diamonds in the band. I like them both, but the one with the little diamonds is £250 more, and i have seen it in the flesh and the diamonds on the band are quite tiny! almost like diamond dust on the band!

but it is still lovely, what do you all think?

For some reason, I actually prefer the ring without the diamonds on the band...But either one is a lovely choice, congrats!

during my first round of ring browsing i thought i loved this ring with the diamonds on the band..when i went back i couldn't believe i actually liked it and decided a plain band would be classic and that i would love it over the years.  i vote first one!  you can always bling it up with your actually band :)

Have you seen the first one in person?  The first ring looks very classic to me and like someone else said you could always jazz it up with a sparkly band.

I like the first one without the side stones.  I prefer the more simplistic engagement rings because I think it makes the diamond stand out so much more and looks so classy - my opinion is go all out with the wedding band =)

I have one that's very similar to the 2nd one and I love it because it's so sparkly :) It's not overwhelming though because the band is still thin and the sparkle is subtle, it just makes it shine a bit more in the light.

I love the solitaire w/ the plain band, but then again I'm biased b/c that's the type of ring I have. lol  I love side stones on the band, but for some reason it bugs me when the stones just stop.  I guess I would either like to have the eternity look w/ stones all around or no stones at all.  But, both rings are beautiful!

Have you thought about what you want for a wedding band? I sort of like the plain one better since you can dress it up with a band however you would like.

i like the second one, but i'm probably partial because it's a bit closer to what mine looks like.  :)  either will be lovely.

I LOVE channel set diamonds in bands so the second ring is definitely my preference.

You should add a poll. :)

They are both beautiful rings, but I prefer the classic solitaire without the diamonds on the band.

I prefer diamonds in the band but its really important what YOU prefer. I think the plain band is a little more classic, the blingy band is a little more...er... blingy! :)

I prefer the first ring.  My concern with the second ring is that you will be limited in your options for your wedding band because the band will have to be set similarly to the band of the engagement ring.  If you go for the plain solitaire you can get a really blinged out wedding band!

I like the solitaire- it's so much more classic. There are so many rings that look simlar to the ones with the diamonds down the band like the 2nd- i feel like they all look the same and everyone thinks that more diamond look better but i would go with a unique/blingy band to help accent your engagement ring

if you have smaller hands, i would go for the first one (it's similar to mine). and def. think about the wedding band! if you go for the second and have smaller hands, its might look overwhelming when you get a wedding band. i am also a fan of the timeless styles though.

The first one!!!  I'm biased because I have a solitare!  But for my band I'm opting for something with diamonds all around so I can have more sparkle :)

The first one. I think you'll find you can pair a simple design to all  different kinds of gorgeous wedding bands (geometic designs, floral designs, different shapes.) The options really open up that way. Plus, all the focus goes on the center stone, which I think is a neat effect.

My ring is very similar to the first one, so I vote for that. ;)

I had looked at some fancier rings and thought I really wanted one, but FI kept whining that only solitaires looked like engagement rings.  I ultimately chose the solitare, even though I wasn't sure, but I loved it when I finally got it. Now I can get basically any kind of wedding band I want and it will "match" the e-ring.

The 2nd ring as a solitaire Laughing

I prefer the setting of the center diamond on the 2nd ring vs. the way the center diamond is set in the 1st ring.
