Hi everyone — I’m kind of torn on what to do in regards to outfits for my fiancee and mine’s engagement session. We plan to only do 1-2 hours with our photographer and we wanted to do more of the casual, relaxed pictures just capturing us and not use anything like props. Is one outfit okay? We’re doing the pictures early in the morning and the only place we could change is in the car but I see a lot of people have two, three even four outfits in their pictures.

we have our e-session coming up, and it’s only 1 hour. we’re only doing 1 outfit, casual, and it’s early in the morning too! 🙂 i think it’s fine. if you do want 2 outfits, though, then go for it! these sessions are about you and your FI, your style, and your relationship.

i only wore one outfit – but i brought my red winter coat so i had that on for some pics and had it off for some.

We wore more then one outfit, but that was our choice. If one outfit is all you want to wear then there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!! 🙂

You can still create a variety of looks without having to do a full outfit change. Depending on your location and temperature, layering from t-shirts to sweaters to vests or jackets, or including scarves to add a pop of color.
Even simple things like changing from hair up to down and swapping earrings/accessories and adding a belt or different shoes/boots can make a ton of difference without much work or effort. One outfit is not bad at all, but having a variety of changes will make a bit more visually stimulating display if you plan to have them up in your home or at the wedding.

We did one outfit but thanks to the weather our photos have differnt looks. Some are with our jackets, some I have just my scarf and dress or jacket no scarf and others are just our clothes. I think the only benefit to multiple outfits is if you are planning to make a book of them it gives it more differentiation and looks less like a photo shoot and more natural. We wandered around so we have several differnt locations and have used our photos for Christmas cards as well as our wedding signature frame. Think about why sou would want multiple outfits and unless, there’s a reason (i.e want to wear wedding colors in some, holiday in others), then I’d stick to one, especially with limited shooting time, you wouldn’t want to waste the time getting changed in between.

I had two sets of shoes because I wanted to rock some awesome high heels, but my FI’s pretty short, so I also wanted some flats for when we were right next to each other. Other than that, I had a hat that I had on and off. I really love our e-pics, and I didn’t regret not having a second outfit.

whatever you want is okay! one outfit is fine- if you only have 1-2 hours, why waste the time changing, fixing up the outfit, etc. Get more pics in! We haven’t taken ours yet (mostly b/c finding a photographer is basically impossible) but I plan to only wear one outfit.
