I don’t post much, only putting a few comments here and there. I need your help.
We’re getting our engagement photos done at the beginning of November, and I really have no idea what to wear. Long story short, I’ve gone from a size 22 to a size 8 over the last 1.5 years, and I still haven’t figured out what to wear for my shape.
I was out the other night, tried on a dress and bought it. It’s really like nothing I’d every really try on normally. But, it was a light sweater knit fabric. I took a photo in the dressing room. I won’t wear it with the boots (I was just wearing them that night), and would probably wear it with a pair of neutral heels. They’re really the only heels I own…oops.
Let me know if this dress looks alright, or if I should keep looking!

Thanks everyone 🙂

i would find something lighter color. its an ok dress, but when i think engagement pictures i just think lighter tones for some reason; and it really isnt all that flattering! you just lost all that weight! find something a little more fitting!

I think you could find something a little more special for the shoot. It’s a nice dress but the colour doesn’t really pop and you should show off your new figure you’ve worked hard for!

Do you like it? I agree with the PP that it’s not very romantic and sort of ‘casual office’ imo, but if you like the design then you should wear what makes you feel comfortable. If you’re still don’t like dresses that cling, perhaps a flowy chiffon dress of some sort that won’t hug your body too tight but will give a beautiful, romantic touch (again, if that’s what you’re going for).

Do you like the dress? Its a cute dress. If you ike the darker color you could always do a brighter color shoe and jewelry to give it a pop. I think there may be better dresses out there, but you should go with what you like and are comfortable with.

I don’t really feel like it flatters your body! I’d look for something lighter in color and something that makes you feel good 🙂

See, this is why I love you guys! I asked everyone I knew, and they were all “Oh yeah, it’s great!” And, I’m like… “C’mon, really guys?”
I think I will find something a little more “pretty”. This would be alright at work, but it is a bit boring!
I was thinking a cardi, scarf and jeans for a second outfit, though. We’re getting them taken in a forest down a hiking trail 🙂

You have a cute, nice body shape, congrats on your weight loss!
I voted “no”, because while I don’t hate this dress or anything, it’s kind of underwhelming. It seems to fit OK, but it doesn’t really do anything for your shape. The top part looks like it could be a t-shirt. Overall, it looks like a nice, comfortable dress you could wear to work.
My advice is to look for something a little more playful and happy. For example, a brighter, lighter color. Or a pattern that is flowers or at least more bold.
I would recommend you look for something with a wide neckline, because it looks like your shoulders and somewhat narrow and sloping. I think a hem that ends a few inches above your knee would keep your body proportions better than the length you are wearing in this pic.

Shweet_heart: I think you can definitely find something that’s more complimentary to your body! 🙂

Shweet_heart: I think it’s really hard to tell with the boots on because it stunts your height. Also I think that pattern isn’t super flattering and makes you seem wider. So knowing that you’ve totally killed it and lost so much weight there’s defintiely something that will suit your figure better!

While that’s a nice dress, it does nothing to show off your figure at all (especially your waist). I would keep looking if I were you.
Skater style dresses tend to be very figure flattering and a really feminine and flirty silhouette so I would look into that.

Shweet_heart: I love the idea of a cardi, jeans and scarf, I think that will look great! I’m in the same boat as you, in the midst of losing weight, and it’s hard to dress up, isn’t it? You look absolutely fab though, and would love to see you try on either a wrap dress that is more form fitting, orrr a flirty, frilly dress with a cardigan. I think you should rock a cute pair of boots since it will be in a forest. congrats btw on your weight loss!!

Thanks everyone! I’m going to be going shopping on wednesday with a friend from work. She’s young and quite fashionable, so I’m hoping she helps to get me out of my bubble!
I’ll post pics and let everyone see!
