HA HA HA HA! If I ever do this, I'll have to do engagement fish cause he doesn't eat red meat or poultry (he's a pescatarian thanks to his liver). So glad to see someone else going outside the norm.

Right ladies, I mean business! I think he's just biding his time before he proposes, either that or he's just dithering over a decision of what ring to get me. Relationship is great, 3.5 years of fab times (though would be fabber if we weren't long distance), long distance will cease to be from October 2010.
Enough rambling. I am doing 3 courses. I am making tomato and basil soup, with chestnut stuffed roast pheasant, honey roast parsnips, carrots and courgettes (and some form of gravy). Dessert is likely to be a lemon flan....still deciding on that one.
I am going all out on this. 'Rents are out for an Italian meal so I have free reign over the kitchen. I know pheasants are only diddy little birdies to munch on (they're all fluff and feathers really) but I hope it stands up to a chicken!
Plan is to make the soup and the flan friday night. Then the flan has time to chill and I only have to worry about heating up the soup on the night. Then I drive the half hour to the train station to pick him up and bring him home to one heck of a meal! I don't think I've ever cooked 3 courses on my own before.
