My FI is an mechie too! Works for a company that makes heat recovery steam generators
My FI is an EE :) I love learning all about his work because I'm so different from him! It keeps me grounded.

My hubby and I both were CS majors...he is still technical (SW eng.) and I am not a SW PM
My fiance is an embeded systems engineer - or how he had to explain it to me 4 years ago a combination of electrical and software engineer ... he makes the computers talk to the electrical things. hahaha. I used to not understand it at ALL but I've learned so so much over the last few years. He's actually working on something super super cool right now and is currently drawing up a schematic while I watch 90210 - classic.
The Dude is a civil engineer. He works for the state, reviewing plans for highways and bridges and stuff!
My BF is studying biomedical engineering, but I never understand what he's talking about at all! I work in advertising.
FI graduated in EE but his job is more mechanical and computer. He's looking for a new job right now so we'll see what he's doing in a few months.
FI works for a major commerical airline as a systems engineer. It has taken him away from me on emergency business for the past week...boo.
My Fi and I are both mechanical engineers! We're pretty much both big nerds :-)

My fiance is an EE and CSE too! He works on some sort of card that allows sound to be transmitted in Dolby Digital format. I don't really "get" what he does, but I do know that he is smart and sexy!
I'm a computer engineer (EE+CSC) and my FI is a networks engineer (specialized CSC) ^_^
wow so many engineering FI's and bees!! that's exciting :)
