I have been thinking about whether we would get our wedding bands engraved. Would this weaken the metal of the ring at all? (We would be getting plain yellow gold wedding bands, his would be about 4mm, mine would be 2-3)
We have this conversation ‘thing’: I say You’re the One, He says You’re the One, the One I Love. So we would probably have You’re the One engraved on one ring, and the One I Love engraved on the other. Don’t know which part on who’s though, so any advice would be appreciated 🙂

Ours are also plain yellow gold, and yes, we had them engraved. The engraving is very slight, you can barely even feel it when you touch it. I don’t think it makes the metal weaker at all.

My 2mm white gold band is engraved. Like PP said, the engraving is very slight, so there’s not really an issue of weakening the metal. When I got my ring engraved, I was told the only problem could be if my ring was too small for their engraving machine, but luckily it wasn’t.
