- Wedding: July 2011
I’m Bengali and my husband is what my family likes to call “the white guy.” We were going to move in together so we had a religious wedding ceremony. Last year, we needed to get legally married for insurance stuff, so we got married at the courthouse and had a small dessert party with all of our friends in the area. As a result, our familes haven’t met yet and so now we’re having a bigger reception party.
I have no idea how to plan this though! We’ve already been through the religious ceremony and the legal one, so basically we’re just having a big party. We were thinking of having some speeches from the MOH and BM and a slideshow later on, but I don’t know what to do past that!
I kind of want to get a DJ, but some of my family would be offended by the dancing and I’m not that big into dancing myself. Does anyone have any ideas or cool traditions that I could put in?
