To designate which entree our guests choose for our wedding reception I need to use some sort of color system. At first I thought the sticker or whatever determination would have to be on the front of the card, but is it supposed to be on the back?? This may be a silly question, but it's driving me nuts!

You can do it either way. Check with your reception venue. Mine preferred it to be on the front so it was easier for the servers. We are actually using different colored placecards to make it easy. Good luck!

As August15Bride said, check with your venue on what they prefer. IMO, I think either way works as long as it is viewable by the necessary people.

I'm blogging about how we're doing this very soon!

Our caterer really said, though, that it's most important to know the number of each entree at each table.  Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Check out how we did our escort cards- we used three different colors for three entree choices. I my post there is a link to Mrs. Avocado's cards too:

I'm also doing 3 different colors depending on entree choice! Although I haven't worked out the details yet.

Id say it is easiest for the waiters if you put a small colored dot (or something) on the front of the place card.  Just make sure to give the caterer the items that match the colors so they know each one.  Easiet and most common would be red for beef, blue for chicken and green for vegetarian.
