I’m working on ordering my paper for invites, and I’m unsure about envelope sizes. My invites are 5×7. I am also including an RSVP card in envelope, a card with hotel reservation info, and a heart instead of an inner envelope (totally just stealing Mrs. Palm Tree’s invite ideas). What I’m wondering is, will an A7 envelope be too small? I realize it is 5-1/4×7-1/4, but I’m worried the extra bulk will stretch it out and make it too small. Any advice on what size envelopes you got/how much extra bulk was in them? I’ve been looking at past posts to get some ideas, but I figured I’d just spell out my specific situation 🙂

Nope, that will be fine. I had an invitation, RSVP card, RSVP envelope, and reception info card in mine and they were fine.

Regular envelopes can fit a surprising amount! We also had 5×7 invites/envelopes, and that fit an invitation packet of a folded card plus extra embellishments inside, three additional thick cardstock inserts (invitation, rsvp, additional info), the rsvp envelope, and then the belly band which included an embellishment made out of two more pieces of thick cardstock.
The only thing I would caution is make sure you bring a sample to the post office and double check how much each envelope will cost to mail, in case they are heavier than average postage allows.
