@DakotaBride:  Holy cow, I alter wedding gowns for a living and I never use hooks except to bustle sashes.  How on earth are they going to hold?!  Do you happen to have a picture of what the bustle looks like now?  If it were me, I’d probably do an over bustle, but using buttons instead (they are more inconspicuous).  If you want nothing at all to show, you’d have to go with a French bustle, but as another bride pointed out recently, that might affect the mermaid look from the front.

@DakotaBride:  Wow, you weren’t kidding!  It looks like a ball!  I’m sorry, I hope your new seamstress can help you.  I don’t think you should go back to your prior seamstress.  She’s so expensive and doesn’t sound like she’ll fix it.  I can’t believe she didn’t even use white hooks.
