I just had my first fitting last night for my Enzoani dress, and from what I could tell, the buttons aren’t functional. Mine is zip up with decorative buttons.

@alex88:  Thanks! It’s actually light gray but the light was weird in the store so it looks purple.

Now that I think about it, it’s entirely possible my Enzoani’s buttons are functional. I’ve never really looked at the back before stepping into it. I just figured that since I’ve been corseted and zipped up quickly during alterations that the buttons didn’t actually work. The seamstress helped me out of it rather quickly too yesterday, so if mine are functional, I’m sure you won’t have issues with unbuttoning yours at the end of the night.

I had an Anjolique dress, created by Benjamin Roberts, who is the same guy that makes Enzoani.  I too had “functional” buttons on top of a zipper and hidden corset, and my MOH found a crochet hook to be pretty much a necessity.  The buttons and the hooks are too small to do with a finger, unless whoever is doing it has tiny fingers!

i wouldn’t say we had trouble with it, it was just a process. my moh managed to button them pretty quickly in the morning, and at night my dh got it down to a science after a couple of buttons. if your dh has big fingers you may want a crochet hook.

Does anyone know what sized crochet hook to use?
