We bought my ring from James Allen. I did a lot of research and got help from the people on Pricescope. They really know their diamonds.  They can also reccamend vendors who stand behind their stones and work ( lots of pictures). My ring is beautiful. We were able to see the actual stone on their website and a gemologist looked at 3 stones I picked out to give me feedback on each one. They have free shipping and you can send a stone back if you are not happy. I was so happy with my e ring I purchased a pair of studs. I could not have gotten a stone this big and beautiful for the price I paid from a B&M.  I would do it again in a heartbeat. Where are you looking to buy from?

i just received my ering from Blue Nile yesterday. After doing months of research, and months of building the ring multiple times a day (obsessed much???), holding it in the flesh was a bit surreal. I think after looking at it so often online really kind of discombobulated my senses. my first thought after opening the box was “omg, it’s so SMALL” not the stone or anything, just as a whole, very small.

that being said, i LOVE it so much more in person that i did online (and i really really loved it online). it’s so danity and feminine. i was worried about a .77 carat being overwhelmed by my 7-7.5 sized fingers, but i just think it suits the setting and my hand so well. i was nervous purchasing unseen from blue nile, but, i’m so glad we went that way. i’ve received so many compliments in the past day from friends, family and coworkers.

center stone: .77 carat, ideal cut, VS1, J-color with medium florescence.

setting: petite pave cathedral in 14k white gold with 1/2 carat pave from blue nile.

hope the photos aren’t huge. sorry if they are!

Mines a black and white Halo. 3 3/4 carat. Here’s the picture vs. the real deal. Either way I love my ring.

We both bought our wedding bands online and I highly recommend it, especially for just plain bands.  The markup on 14/18k bands (and platinum too, I’m sure) is astounding at stores.

I will say that my ring was lighter than expected – but then again it’s very slim, so I’m not really sure what I was expecting 🙂

@Whitelight:  Great idea for a thread, thank you!

@XmasBride2014:  I love, love, love your ring! Where did you buy it, is it an estate piece? It’s absolutely stunning.
