I think it is acceptable the only thing is will they get lost, moved around too much??? That would be my only concern, is that some might get placed on top of each other by accident and then people have a hard time finding their name.
i think that would be fine. we had flat cards and pinned them to a bulletin board.
Maybe you could weigh them down with a small jewel, stone, other decorative element so they don't get lost in the shuffle?
I've seen flat cards stood in a variety of items in trays like wheat grass, or candy or fruit. Or, you can tack them to boards covered in ribbon, or fabric, or plain bulletin boards, depending on your colors.
I've seen it done at weddings before than think it's totally fine. Do what you want!
Thank you guys.. sorry it took me so long to get back.. i don't usually check the boards on the weekend!
My mom vehimently opposed flat cards today. I was going to put the table assignment on the back of the card, their names on the front.. she said that she would never think to turn it over, and that people would never know how to find their tables... ugh, she frustrates me! She sure knows how to push my buttons!

So my plan is to make square escort cards, with the name and table number applied to the front - but I was just going to have them lay flat on the table, I wasn't going to give them a "leg to stand on" so to say...
Is this acceptable? Can you guys find me really great inspiration photos to convince me that this is okay?
