We had a table chart created because it was WAY less fiddly (and easier to setup) than escort cards!
We're creating a seating chart to direct our guests to their tables but then each favor will be labeled with a guests name at their place setting. I personally didn't really care where the guests sat at their assigned table but FI feels strongly that we should tell them where to park it so that's what we shall do!
Yep, what @CaitMarae said - we also had individual place cards laid out (with charity favours attached) on each table, so having escort cards AND place cards was a bit redundant.
we did escort cards (and no placecards)... i like having something you can physically grab that tells you where to go. i was worried just having a chart, people would forget what table they were even trying to find. you know how some weddings have sooo many tables, and sometimes the names can be unique, and in the 10 minutes that goes by while you're searching, you've forgotten what the eff you were looking for in the first place? oh that's just me? nevermind, lol.
I did a post like this in local. It sounds like in Canada escort cards are still fairly rare, I've never heard of them until planning my own wedding. Every wedding I've been to with a seating plan had a seating chart and usually placecards.
We have a seating chart and place cards. No escort cards. It seemed way easier than using escort cards
We are doubling the favor as the escort card and then the place card is also the bells at each setting...
We are doing a seating chart and place cards as well...the place cards/escort cards will indicate with a coloured piece of ribbon what their menu option is...
We are doing escort cards and they will be arranged in alphabetical order. I find it kind of annoying to hunt all over seating charts to find my name.
I am a bit nervous, because escort cards aren't commonly done around here, but it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out.
@simplifiedbride: that's my thinking too, lol, it's too hard to remember unless you've got it in your hand! :P besides, i've actually only ever seen escort cards before at weddings i've been to, so that's what we did

I was just wondering how many Brides are doing escort cards or a table seating chart?
I've never seen escort cards done before so I was going to go the table seating chart way, just wondering what everyone else is doing.
