Wow! It told me it estimated my wedding cost 27k and it cost just a little over 27k. ouch.
I originally went in wanting to spent 15k
that calulator put it would cost me $31,000 , but our wedding will be $10,000. I am friends with a good amount of my vendors , so I'm getting special pricing... but that 31,000 is still wayyyyy over our 10,000 lol.
Wow it was pretty accurate for me. It gave me the average in my area and then my budget and it's pretty close to the actual amount we're spending! I think selecting all the options we are having helps it be more accurate, at least in my case.
The calculator gave me an estimated price of 27K! I was like ... WTF!!!! Really!!!!
My budget is approx 6-7K... no where near 27K!!!
Well... hopefully the calculator is wrong.
Ha! It quoted $39,800 but I'm busting this bad boy out for $25k. I win!!!
.... kinda. :/
WOWSERS!!! My estimated budget was $$57,593. And here I was complaining that the budget was now pushed to $40K.
YIKES!!!!!
Lolz my estimated is $56k, the average for my area is $21k - $35k (that's a HUGE range). We're aiming for just under $40k.
@KristenGotMarried: Yea somehow still doesn't feel like I'm winning. Hahahaha. It feels like I'm broke...
Ha! The calculator gave me estimated cost of $44,586. And weddings in my zip code ranged from $24,286 to $40,476.
We came out at ~$24 and that included honeymoon as well! We had budgeted for $20 so not that much over.
Boo Yah!
Mine said $32k, which we aren't even close too. But we are only having 21 guests total, so.... yeah. Their per person dollar amount is pretty close to what we are spending.
This got me thinking, we actually never set an overall budget, we just budgeted for each item, like photographer, dress, suit, flowers, etc. I guess I should go add all those numbers up!
Mine was pretty right on. It still makes me cringe to think about how much we spent. I would have looooooved to have that money now that we're looking at houses!
Our estimated cost was $40K, with weddings in our zip code ranging from 28-47K. We're coming in on the low end with $30K, with an estimated 150 guests. Why can't we live in a cheaper place? Almost all of our vendors are middle of the pack, price-wise. Sigh.
I posted on this last month, with a poll option:

After posting on another thread about budget I'm curious to see how everyone's budgets line up with the average for their area. There is a calculator that takes in a few different factors such as guests, type of wedding, etc. and uses average figures to determine your wedding cost.
Mine was WAY off! My wedding is only going to be around $5,000-$6,000 and it estimated a whopping $26,000. I'm sure this has to do with many things on the calculator's list being DIY or friendor items. I'm just curious to see how your budgets stack up against these things.
The calculator is here if anybody wants to do this for fun:
