babygoose02:  It’s nice to see Etsy finally enforcing their own rules. Part of their sellers’ guidelines include respecting the intellectual propert of others, yet they have let these cheap replica makers use pictures and styles of real designers for years.

julies1949:  ITA! You should only be able to post pictures of what you have in hand (or have made in the past, to use as an example), not pictures of someone else’s work. In no other situation would it be okay to use someone else’s work and just promise that you can duplicate it.

There was an article that talked about fake reviews a few months ago that mentioned etsy, although it was mostly about amazon. I’m sure they are cracking down on things like that too. Even on here, you have to be careful about reviews as you don’t know who is on the other side of the screen. A while back there was a rash of posters “reviewing”  forhimandforher.com as a replica maker. Turns out, after some mod and hostess sleuthing, they were all coming from the company itself and a few bees got scammed before we caught it.
