I don't really like it. =/ Amazon and ebay for me.
Yes! I had never heard of Etsy until I joined Weddingbee and in the last few months I have bought our shower invitations, my veil, my hair flower, personalized wedding hanger, and decorations for a friend's baby shower I am throwing this month. I love it!
i am addicted to it!
i got my garters, hair bow, wired hanger, flowergirl's headpiece, custom stickers, wishing tree tags, and a bunch more stuff from the site. love it!
Eh I think Etsy is over priced for stuff, when I can find something simillar to what I want on Ebay or Amazon for cheaper
i'm addicted a bit. i think a lot of it is overpriced (like, waaaaay overpriced) since i know how much certain materials cost ;) i have purchased my cake-topper (custom), cake bunting and some craft materials on there though! oh, and my FI had my e-ring custom made there as well (and i just bought his wedding band to match from the same seller)...yay etsy!
I'm addicted, but only because I have a shop! I've bought a couple things from others on etsy and have been very happy.
I love Etsy. I always try to find the things I'm looking for on there before I resort to buying retail. I'd much rather give my money to an individual than a corporation any day. I've yet to be dissapointed.
I use it once in a blue moon, usually for gifts around the holidays. I got my veil and some of wedding jewerly there, too, but I usually stick to Amazon.
hahaha i think it's funny that no one has voted for "what is etsy"..i voted that I could take it or leave it because I have seen some cute things, but wouldn't spend the money asked for most of them. but no one yet..doesn't know what it is..i have to say I only learned about it through weddingbee.
I have only bought one thing from the site. i bought an antique fur wrap to wear for my wedding on there.
I haven't actually bought anything yet, but I am addicted to looking and saving favorites!
I buy some things on Etsy, but I also use it as inspiration for my own DIY stuff.
I am super addicted! I have gotten my flower girl gifts (personalized tote bags), personalized cosmestic bags for my bridesmaids, personalized rubber stamp for our RSVP envelopes, wish tree tags, wedding programs, and I am sure I am missing things...
I like custom dresses and the like, but the rest of the stuff? Eh, I can probably make it myself for a fraction of what it costs on there.
I love Etsy because I've been able to find items that are unique - including my awesome shower tags (mine is the furthest right on the bottom row!)
I'm not addicted to it. I like it because I like supporting independent artists. I also like it because it is much easier to find something extremely specific there. I do agree that often things are extraordinarily overpriced and that buyers should beware.
I spend a lot of time browsing on it--shopping is one of my favorite hobbies but I don't have a ton of money, so I often end up getting ideas from Etsy but not actually buying stuff.
I do a buy occasionally, though. I got my wedding earrings from Etsy--and then had to go through a ton of crap with the seller when it arrived with some issues! The earrings are all fixed up now, though. Nothing Superglue and a toothpick couldn't fix.
I browse it all the time, but I haven't bought much. However, I will forever be an Etsy fangirl because Etsy is what gave me my amazing mask for our masquerade wedding. My mask is quite possible the most gorgeous object I have ever seen anywhere. Considering the time involved in making it and the quality of work, it's really really really well priced, too. It's gems like that that make me bow to the awesomeness that is Etsy.
I've never actually bought something on there (because I'm poor, mostly, not because of a lack of beautiful, creative things :-P) but I like the idea of it
I love it. I wish there was still alchemy, but if you really look you can find good deals, and people willing to customize. I havent boughten alot, I wait and buy special items I cant find anywhere else (my last one was a totoro plushy...lol)
I LOVE Etsy! I actually have had a successful store on there for the past 2 years and I totally support handmade!!!!! <3
I'm pretty addicted, it's my go to when I'm looking for anything that can handmade. I think I've so far, about 95% of the wedding stuff accumilated is from etsy. Hanger, cake top, calligraphy, invitation inserts, bridesmaids gifts, decorations, etc. I've spent a lot of money on there!
I'm sort of addicted but not because of the wedding stuff. I looked at invites on there once and they were ridiculously overpriced so I was pretty much done after that...but I'm always on there looking at new collars for my dog. I buy him a new collar from Etsy every few months or so. FI think I'm nuts but I love buying him cute ones instead of the standard boring ones from the pet store.
I love Etsy and have bought a few wedding items from there. However, I have been using it for inspiration more than anything. I like to use it for ideas then make the items myself for way cheaper!
I never heard of it before I joined this site either, but I love it!! More for the plethora of unique and creative ideas, some of which I find and then try to recreate myself.. I got my idea for my invitations on there, but instead of paying upwards of 500 to get them shipped to me, I bought the materials for less than 150 total and I'm making them all myself, which I never thought I'd have the patience or talent to do, so I definitely love the site.. I did buy a few things from there too though, today actually, so I guess I'll see when they come in what they're like..
