Etsy is for both handmade and vintage items. You buy items directly from the people who make them, and your purchaes support artists and artisans, and small businesses. You also have the option to request a custom item from an artist and work directly with them to make a one-of-a-kind piece for yourself.

You should go there and browse around.  I did it for months before I actually purchased anything.

I think it’s every thing you listed. If you’re looking for vintage, it’s there – if you’re looking for unique, it’s there – – if you’re looking for inexpensive……. well you get the picture.

I do think the prices are much much better than you’ll find in bridal shops, jewelry stores, etc.

Give it a try…..you won’t be sorry.

I bought my earrings & bracelets from an Etsy seller & I absolutely LOVE them.  She was great & I can’t say enough good things about her!  They were inexpensive, good quality & beautiful!

It’s a good site for a lot of unique things. I didn’t want the same things that everyone else had for their wedding. I worked with a few great sellers that were willing to tweek a couple of things for me to make it perfect for my wedding.

They have so many unique things. A lot of the bridal items are a great price! I don’t like to buy before I ‘try’ but I have been pleasantly surprised with Etsy’s items.

I have a mild (and by mild I totally mean serious) obsession with etsy. Here are some of the shops where I have made purchases or have had custom items done. Everyone I have purchased from has been wonderful and super accommodating.

I got some Christmas presents (ornaments) from:

I also get a lot of inspiration just looking around etsy! I ended up making my bridesmaids jewelry and it looks just like one I saw on etsy.

I’ve gotten a few things off of Etsy, but I love to browse!

My wedding invitations are coming from this shop  http://www.etsy.com/shop/LaBelleVieDesign

I also ordered wreaths to decorate the church doors from this shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/SucculentsGalore

I got my sister a camera case for Christmas from this shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/PuppyDogsNPolkaDots

I’m also considering getting some jewelry as gifts for the moms for the wedding.

I made my first ever Etsy purchase a couple of weeks ago! I bought the prettiest chiffon flower hair clips ever from the seller called PinsAndNeedlesToo. I adore them!

I looked on Etsy for all the reasons you listed. I had tried looking at the mall and the selection was terrible. I found maybe two or three ivory flower hair clips after searching an entire mall and they were all disappointingly crappy looking. The bridal stores’ accessories were marked up like crazy. I was not going to pay $40 for a hair thingy!

I only had to spend about half an hour browsing through a couple of Etsy searches to find hundreds of options. In the end, I found exactly what I wanted for a great price – two gorgeous ivory chiffon flower clips with handmade quality for $20 plus a few dollars for shipping.

I LOVE ETSY! I think its a great outlet for artisans and craftspeople to get their name out there and make something for themselves in the digital age. I did all of my christmas shopping there, and I don’t have to worry that anyone will see their item somewhere else! I love supporting small business and that you are truly working with someone who cares about their craft.
