While etsy.com is a great site and many brides would swear by it, it isn't much different than dealing with other vendors who suddenly charge an arm and a leg for something because it's a wedding.

I've had great dealings on buying things there, but I say to everyone in general to do research and just don't go blindly because everyone always seems to buy stuff on etsy.  In looking for earrings for my wedding, I've found at least two sellers who priced their items at least 3 times the price the item could be found elsewhere.  Had I not gotten these same earrings on another site but instead gone with etsy first, I'd have been super pissed.

My point is just be sure to check out all your sources.  And don't be afraid to use ebay and other reputable online sources.  With pay pal and other protections, you have as much if not more security then going through the etsy site.
