@otto2008:  I absolutely love the last one you posted. I wish I had experience with these sellers, but I definitely got butterflies when I saw that last one!

I had my ring custom made by Rosados Box and I love it! It is really well done, sturdy, and GORGEOUS. I don’t have any good pics (I have no idea how people get such good pics of their rings!). Here is the picture I do have. I love it.

Shirley was wonderful to work with and was very patient with me as I had no idea what I was talking about. 😉 My ring is a 6mm round amethyst in a cathedral setting with pave diamonds halfway down the side and milgrain detail. I with the milgrain showed up better in the picture – it is very fine and so beautiful. I have a size 4.5 finger.

Also – I should mention that I actually met with Shirley as I happened to be in Chicago. And that Barra ring with the micro pave halo is GORGEOUS. Really, I was so impressed with all of the rings.

That is my two cents! I did not have any experience with either of the other jewelers. Good luck. I have no doubt she will LOVE whatever ring you chose. You can’t go wrong!

I would vote for the third or second. I literally gasped at both of these (especially number 3!)

@otto2008:  If he is sizing the ring UP for free, that actually might be a concern. It might mean he is thinning the gold to make it bigger, making the shank thinner. So you might want to check on that. $27 doesn’t seem like a lot.. it’s a lot less than you’d pay in a store.

I don’t like the last one, the stone looks too big for the setting and is hiding the halo. Just not my preference. I’d go with the Rosados Box one personally, as long as you’re getting the setting in rose gold.

@otto2008:  The first one is a definite “no”. The pave work looks chunky and not delicate. I don’t like it.

I slightly prefer #2 over #3, but since you said #2 has a wonky return policy I would go with #3.

@otto2008:  If your girlfriend didn’t like #3, then she won’t like #2.

They are almost identical.

1 and 2 were my favorites – if she wasn’t feeling 3 drop it from contention!  I think I’m feeling 2 more because it has the stone so I can imagine it better but I like 1 a lot too – I’d go with the designer you feel most comfortable with and where you get the most bang for your buck 🙂

@otto2008:  you need to find out if she wants her wedding band to sit flush against her engagment ring. If so, the MasterGoldCraft ring won’t work unless she gets a curved band, which she might not want.

@otto2008:  I should also mention that you said she wants a cushion cut morganite and the second and third rings have a round morganite. The halo is cushion shaped, but not the stone.

based on what you say you want, i would check out sundarigems on etsy – she has gorgeous rings, my SO (soon to be FI) had my setting custom made by her and he is completely thrilled with it. she was super on the ball, shipping was crazy fast, and the price was very competitive.

she does lots of custom work and can source a gem that’s larger/smaller for you than what is currently in her shop. she sends CADs before casting the ring so you can be exactly sure of what the final result will be.

she has lots of champagne sapphires in her shop, lots of cushions and halos as well. for reference, this is the ring that my SO had her make for my engagement ring.

and here are some that you might like:

you could have a halo added to this:

or have a sapphire put in this instead of a moissanite:

hope that helps a bit!
