@tobemrstaddesse: I ordered a dress from her a month ago and it was due to be shipped on Monday. I emailed her yesterday to ask when its going to be shipped and have had no word. I’m now getting antsy about it.

Have you received yours?

I’m also about to place my wedding dress order from misdress on etsy. Anyone have any experience with this seller? Would love to know if she’s legit! I’m kind of nervous…

Undecided

@ReeRee06

@SarahBills

Hi

Update: I heard back from Kim @ Misdress the day after I posted here and she apologised and said that there was a three day public holiday there and she was behind in her emails.

She said she will ship the dress by the end of this week. Her communication up until last week had been really good so I am inclined to believe her. She has also received more glowing feedback in on etsy in the last few days so I have high hopes!

I will update again when (if) I receive my dress.

Have either one of your received your dresses yet? There’s a really good chance we’ll be getting engaged by the end of the year (fingers crossed!) and I’m thinking about ordering my dress from Misdress. It would be so great to hear about a real person’s experience and see pictures if you’re comfortable posting them!

I find it highly suspicious that she has 202 sales, yet only 18 reviews. Not to mention she has 202 sales since May + no seller information + no shop policies. I’m willing to bet these dresses are factory made, especially considering they ship from china.

@Hyperventilate:  Not everybody who buys something from an Etsy seller will write a review but only 18 out of 202? Hmmmm. I agree, that’s suspicious. That’s why I turned to the Bee for help.

I ordered a dress from misdress for my rehearsal dinner, which is on Friday.  I’m not confident it’ll make it here in time!  I’ll update once it gets here though.

No I still don’t have it.

I emailed her on Friday and asked if it was still on track for shipment that week and she replied the next day and said it was being picked up by the mailman that day, however the shipping status on Etsy has not changed and I have not received a “shipped” email.

Even if it did get shipped on Saturday, It would probably take at least a week to get here but today is the last day I can file a paypal dispute as well so I don’t know whether to just wait and trust her or not.

I just realised that i didn’t tag you properly on my replies to your messages about misdress and you probably didn’t see them! Sorry i’m a noob.

I still have not received my dress.

Sarah – did you end up placing an order?

@MsMeow:  I used to sell on Etsy, I understand not everyone leaves feedback — That’s not why I was suspicious.

They have zero information on their company whatsoever + no shop policies. They have made over two hundred sales in four months and considering the type of product they are selling, that’s absurd. I highly doubt someone can design and sew two hundred dresses in four months, barring “simple” dresses like sundresses that follow a general cut-and-sew guideline. That, along with the whole “shipping from china” thing leads me to believe that this is likely a sweatshop factory (because how else are you going to produce that much product in such a short time) so, you’re likely going to get a shoddy product that was made by sweatshop labor for pennies in china, which is also against everything Etsy used to stand for.

Not to mention just the people in this thread who still haven’t gotten their dresses…

if it were me, I’d stay far away from this seller.

I’m also a little suspicious when to me it looks like all but 4 reviews were anonymous. I can see that happening occasionally but when I look at other sellers I have bought from they mostly have reviews from people who are named as the reviewer.

I hope the dresses do show up for those who have ordered here.
