Early on in my ventures onto etsy I quickly realized it has to be my all time fav website and I shop one etsy more than I ever thought I would. I just love the fact that everything is hand crafted and your helping out your fellow man instead of the big box company.
After getting engaged I quickly decided I wanted to do an etsy wedding registry. UGH they do not offer such a thing though. I have done a little research about how other brides have set up registries on etsy. I think the easiest way is to have the seller tag the item with your wedding info. Then your guest search your name.
Is anyone doing an etsy registy? If so how did you do it? Would you shop off of an etsy registry? Thoughts….

That would be sooooo awesome! I love Etsy. Too bad you can’t buy an Etsy gift card to use at any vendor. But depending on your guests I think some more traditional people might shy away from buying something from an individual rather than an established company.

They are working on this but it probably won’t be for awhile based on their blog. This post actually recommends a few “catch all” registries – my FH and I are using wishpot based on their recommendations. There are lots of posts on the boards about these sights – I would not recommend wist.com – that was awful.
I love Etsy!

What about doing a website like the honeymoon websites where you list things that are original and cool from etsy on the website, guests swipe their cards, you get cash (usually via paypal) and then you can buy said item from the etsy store yourself?

I’ve simply added items from etsy to my amazon.com registry using their Universal Registry Button (it lets you add anything from any websites that sells anything!).
