A while back I posted a thread about choosing between 2 hair combs. I had posted an alchemy request on Etsy for a pearl and rhinestone/crystal hair comb and was impressed by a seller’s bid photos. I accepted her bid and today she sent me a photo of the completed comb.
This is the original photo that I asked to duplicate:
And this is the photo she sent me today of my comb:
It seems a bit different to me and I don’t really like it. I don’t know what to do because the wedding is on June 26 and I already accepted the bid for it. I think the pearls look like different colors, and the crystals are very different. Plus there are 2 awkward pearls hanging off the end on the left of the photo.
She asked if there were any adjustments I’d like, so I mentioned wanting the crystals to be more like the original photo and the pearls to line up on the end. I also asked what color the pearls were.
What should I do from here? Yikes!

I would be honest – you are paying her to make you what you want!
Tell her that you don’t like the colour of the pearls and you want whiter looking pearls!
The comb also looks like it is made of wire and might hurt when you put it in and take it out of your hair!?!?!?

She asked if you wanted adjustments – tell her! Alchemy sellers are used to a bit of back-and-forth on their items. Be specific with what you want so she can’t misinterpret. Say you want three rows of white pearls with two smaller rows of crystals between them (that’s what it looks like in the original photo to me).

Honestly, it looks uneven and not like your original pic. Seriously, I would go on e-bay or go to a bridal store and look for an alternative. You really don’t have that much time till your wedding and there is no guarantee she will make it right. If it were me, I would prob ask for a refund if you’ve already paid here. Just my opinion. Better safe than sorry.

Well you already told her what adjustments to make. I woud check back with her to make sure she is doing the comb like you requested. I would also start looking for a plan B just in case this one falls through. Here is one similar to your first picture, a little thinner though:
Good luck and hopefully she can make the changes so it is more like how you wanted it to be!!!

Here’s the update with the changes:
She said the pearls are a regular pearl color, that the photo makes them look darker than they really are.
I like this better, but I’m not sure it has the same effect of wow as the original photo she provided me in the bid talks. Should I go for it so I don’t have to spend lots of money and get a rush one?

These things always look better in the pics.

@VeronicaH – Do you mean they look better in the photos than in person? That’s my worry. I’m contacting another seller that bid on my request to see if she can make these pins still:
What do you bees think is best?

well it looks a lot better but not exactly like the first photo. It is a great improvement though!

hmm maybe its the camera she is using..
but the one she made doesn’t look like the 1st one she posted…
