ugh, I would get let her know that if it does not come in time that you will be returning it at her expense. I really hope she has sent it and that you do get it in time.

Yea, she sounds totally sketch. There’s no reason why she can’t give you tracking info if it’s already been sent. She obviously hasn’t shipped it yet and is just stalling. If I were you I’d tell her to forget it and refund the money asap.

I hate etsy- but I keep going back for more punishment. I’d see where she’s at with the shipment and if you don’t hear from her within a day I’d start calling your credit card company. Be careful if you open a dispute with paypal- make sure you  present a full case and attach all documents when you open it. I recently had a dispute and didn’t know I had one opportunity to make my case (they gave the seller multiple opportunities)- I lost my money.

50 percent of my etsy transactions have been bad:

-Two different etsy furniture sellers accepted my money and disappeared.

-one return address stamp seller forgot the street number and spelled three words wrong on the stamp. Somehow paypal sided with her because I proofed the stamp, sent her the corrections spelling- she didn’t send a second proof so I didn’t catch the missing numbers. I wish I could post her emails- I was basically told she was too busy to care.

-Another stamp seller forgot to send me a proof for a week- when I emailed her I got the response, “Oh hey! I wondered why you never replied!”

-The lady who did my sister’s wedding invitations was okay, but I ordered 125 RSVP cards, 4 were missing (well they weren’t missing- she sent blank pieces of a paper). She also said she printed on “thick cardstock” the paper was fairly flimsy.

The list goes on. I just ordered a convertible dress from etsy, I don’t know what I was thinking.

I have not had any issues with Etsy. To me she just sounds like a person who needs money. She didn’t want you to cancel and then made a promise she couldn’t keep. I think 2 weeks turn around for shipping is reasonable for a handmade anything really. I think that’s where the issues started.

Ugh, I’m sorry, that’s stressful. I have been pretty lucky with Etsy, I’d say 98% positive.

So far so good with Etsy on my end. I haven’t ordered much though, maybe I’ve been lucky? My Fiance ordered me a plush Alot from an Etsy seller for our anniversary and it took quite a while to get it but it wasn’t the seller’s fault. UPS screwed up and somehow sent it back to her (my Fiance aid the tracking number told him that the package was in some sort of limbo) and she gave the Alot lots of hugs and put him back in the box and sent him out again at her expense. So yeah, pretty much all good.

Don’t forget to leave negative feedback, I always scour the feedback section for each seller and if there are negative comments, I usually don’t bother!

I will let you know as an Etsy seller myself, that she is giving you the runaround. When we purchase our shipping labels through Paypal which 99% of us do, it AUTOMATICALLY emails the recipient the tracking number. And if she doesn’t use the Paypal way, there is no reason for her not to provide a tracking number. I would suggest opening up a Non-Delivery Case with Etsy. What will happen is she will have 24 hours to provide Etsy with a tracking number or they will request that she refunds you and they will follow-up on it. Any more questions PM me 🙂

i have had mostly excellent experiences with etsy, with one exception — which was a similar delayed shipment that delayed me getting my invitations out (i was very very unhappy with that seller).  BUT, i made sure to go back and leave feedback for each of my purchases — positive for all the really great vendors on etsy who have been amazingly responsive and provided me with unique and beautiful products, and bad feedback for the one seller who didn’t, so that future purchasers would know that, if working within a deadline, this may not be the seller for you.  i would recommend you leave feedback for this seller so future purchasers will have notice that the seller may not be the most responsive!

I have had good stuff from etsy. But once, well, I decided to go on WB classifieds to get a graphic artist. I’m still dealing with the fallout and my wedding is in 2 weeks. I’ve been VERY VERY UNHAPPY. Oh wellz 🙁 To the OP, hopefully your stuff arrives soon!

I’m also having a current bad experience on etsy…i usually check out the reviews but this time I didn’t and it really bit be in the butt.
