I’m not really sure what to do, I ordered a few things off etsy and it was all going well. Then I ordered my Veil and Headpiece. I had talked with the seller back and forth a few times and they were very responsive (always within 2 hours) and that was over a few days. I placed my order and they confirmed they got it.
It was supposed to be shipped the 12-14th. I messaged on Sunday and got no response (figured because of weekend) and I’ve messaged again today.
I only inquired when it would be shipped (and mentioned the timeline on the listing) and if I’d get a tracking number as the listing doesn’t tell me about the number.
No response and no update. 🙁
What do I do? Should I just hold on? I know I’m not in an urgent need for the Veil, but I would like to get an update….

When did you order them? I would be concerned…
I hope everything works out!

Isn’t that upsetting? A similar thing happened to me. Fortunatly, in my case, the products came in a pretty timely manner even though the seller stopped responding. Hopefully the same will be true for you! I’d give it a week (or whatever the standard delivery time is to your area) and then take action if you still haven’t gotten a response. Good luck!

Do you know long something takes to ship from where the seller is located? I would wait that timeframe and then contact again. It is annoying but since they don’t have to provide tracking and stuff you should be patient a few more days just in case.

@Elky: I have ordered so much stuff from etsy and have never just not gotten something. I have had problems with communication, but you have to remember that for the most part these are one person operations. You are not dealing with a corporation full of ppl whose job it is to answer phones and emails. I would give her a couple more days. You can directly go directly to etsy if you have a problem. Good luck!

I’ll wait a little while longer. I did another check through the feedback even though its 95% positive, a lot of people commented on it taking longer than the deadline.
I’ll check back in with her next week, that should give it enough time to get from US to Canada assuming it was shipped on time and simply not marked as shipped.

Did you pay with paypal? If so I think you only have 30 (or maybe its 45…) days from the purchase date to dispute any unreceived items. I did have to do this once with an Etsy seller. They were not responding to my messages and I hadn’t received the mockup of my item (STDs). I put a complaint in through paypal and whadda ya know the seller got back to me right away 🙂
Maybe wait a few more days since feedback did mention slow shipping, but I would make sure you know when your 45 days or whatever it is will be up. After that I don’t think you have any recourse…

@adoc86: Thanks, its 45 days (just checked) so I have time 🙂 I’ll let you ladies know if I have to open a dispute or if it ends up going well.

Try sending a new message not responding to your saved communication with the seller. I ordered SO much stuff from etsy and had problems with a few sellers getting back . Only one time did I go through dispute process with paypal and got s refund but not wedding item. The other time ( dealing with my thank you cards) the seller wasn’t sending my proof or answering my message so I filed complaint with paypal. Seller immediately got back to me , obviously . Wait 2 weeks past your due date to file complaint. I highly recommend starting a new thread since they usually respond right away.

Did you use paypal? Contact paypal and refute the charges. Paypal is very good with getting disputes taken care of.

I am active in another community that is very Etsy oriented (They’re all crafters) and I know some of them have been reporting Convo issues because of some sort of prototype (Not 100% on this, I am strictly an Etsy buyer now, so I’m not sure what they’re talking about ) so if this is the case it may not entirely be the seller’s fault.
I’d try again in a day or so.
Do you have the e-mail that the money was paypal’d to? You might try e-mailing that.

So my update!
Seller finally responded that it was shipped yesterday and that she thought she had responded to me earlier but turned out it had been another bride she replied to @Hyperventilate: maybe that was part of the issue you mentioned?
BUT she ended up giving me an upgraded headpiece, I really wanted a white one and the one I bought couldn’t be pure white was going to be cream with white feathers and white fabric paint dusted on the flower. And she said she ended up sending a pure white one with feathers and a rhinestone that she used for modeling shots of her birdcage veils and is actually the feather/flower piece I had originally wanted/fell in love with! I hope it looks as awesome when it comes.
@soontobehisbride: I hope yours works out the way mine did!
